reviews $19•$20 an hour•Full-time Job Summary Retina Associates is seeking a dedicated, energetic, and patient-focused Specialty Office Technician to join our growing ophthalmic team. This role is essential in supporting physicians, clinical staff, and patients in a fast-paced retina specialty practice. The Specialty Office Technician will assist with patient flow, diagnostic testing, clinical documentation, coordination of care, and overall office operations to help ensure an exceptional patient experience. The ideal candidate is highly organized, adaptable, detail-oriented, and thrives in a collaborative healthcare environment with multiple moving parts. Duties and Responsibilities Assist physicians and clinical staff with patient care and daily clinic operations Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and treatments Obtain and document patient histories, medications, and chief complaints accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR) Perform ophthalmic diagnostic testing and imaging as needed Support patient flow to ensure efficient clinic operations and timely patient care Educate patients on procedures, medications, follow-up instructions, and treatment plans Coordinate referrals, prior authorizations, scheduling, and patient follow-up care Maintain exam rooms, equipment, and clinical supplies in accordance with safety and infection control standards Communicate effectively with physicians, staff, patients, pharmacies, and outside providers Assist with administrative and operational tasks as needed to support the practice Qualifications Previous healthcare, ophthalmology, retina, or specialty practice experience preferred Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment Excellent communication and patient service skills Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy Experience with EMR systems and medical terminology preferred COA/COT certification is a plus but not required Prior experience with ophthalmic imaging or injections is highly desirable Why Join Retina Associates?
