We would love to have an energetic, customer service focused person with a great smile who loves to make our patients feel welcome and special. Experience is helpful, but not necessary as we are willing to train. Basic computer skills required. We are offering full-time for this position. As an optometric technician you will be performing our pre-exam work ups and special testing to get the patients ready for the doctor to examine. To be successful in this position, you should have a pleasant personality, as this is also a customer service role. You should be able to deal with emergencies in a timely and effective manner, while streamlining office operations to ensure the doctors stay on time with their schedules. Multitasking, flexibility, attention to detail, and time management skills are essential for this position. It is important to us that your duties and responsibilities are executed to the highest quality standards. If you have minimal or no experience, we are willing to train the right candidate.
Salary:
Depends on experience Light admin/reception duties include answering phone calls, scheduling appointments, and helping to ensure our patients have the best experience. Responsibilities (including but not limited to): Pretesting the patient in preparation for them seeing the doctor Performing special testing, including but not limited to, retinal imaging and OCT Light data entry of testing results into our exam software Cleaning pretesting and exam rooms between patients Maintaining office security by following HIPAA procedures and controlling access via the reception desk Answering incoming phone calls Providing basic and accurate information in-person and via phone/email Receiving and entering paperwork from patients in a fast and accurate manner Skills Proven work experience as an Optometric Technician or similar role Proficiency with computers and learning new systems Hands-on experience with office equipment (e.g. fax machines and printers) Professional attitude and appearance Solid written and verbal communication skills Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise Excellent organizational skills Multitasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks Ability to process data quickly and accurately is essential Customer service attitude High school degree
