In this role, you will support our Optometry and Specialty Contact Lens Clinic by assisting providers with patient care, performing diagnostic testing, supporting specialty contact lens services, and helping create a smooth and positive patient experience from start to finish. Previous optical, contact lens, or medical office experience is a plus, but we hire for personality and potential above all else. The successful candidate will possess a self-starter attitude, enjoy working as part of a team, show a willingness to learn new things, be motivated, have strong computer skills, and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. With 3 clinics, there is plenty of opportunity for professional growth and advancement within the organization. This position is full-time, Monday through Friday, with no nights or weekends required. The primary location will be our North Spokane clinic; however, flexibility to travel between offices and support other departments within the building as needed is expected.
Responsibilities include:
Obtaining patient histories including ocular, medical, medication, social, and family history Performing visual acuity testing with and without correction Lensometry using automated and manual equipment Pupillary assessment, visual fields, and ocular motility testing Tonometry using ICare and Tonopen, including proper cleaning and disinfection Supplemental testing including color vision, glare testing, angle assessment, and pupil dilation Contact lens insertion and removal training Scleral lens fitting measurements Assisting with scleral lens measurements and specialty contact lens services Maintaining office inventory and restocking exam rooms Cleaning and sterilizing instruments and maintaining patient exam rooms Supporting providers and staff to ensure efficient clinic flow and excellent patient care
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required Previous optical or medical office experience preferred Strong communication and organizational skills Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment Willingness to learn and grow within the practice
