Job Description

Eyedentity Eyecare + Eyewear Ophthalmic Technician Eyedentity Eyecare + Eyewear, a private optometry office and optical boutique, is seeking a Ophthalmic Technician to join our practice and perform a variety of patient care, testing, and comprehensive medical assistant duties, as well as assist Opticians with dispensing and glasses adjustments as needed. We are looking for a person who is organized and thrives in a fast-paced environment, while collaborating well with team members and providing a high level of customer service to our patients.
  • Collect patients' medical histories and ensure information in the electronic health record (EHR) is accurate to assist doctors and ensure proper charting and documentation of each appointment.
  • Operate ophthalmic equipment to conduct pre-testing patients and special testing on patients, including visual fields, retinal screening photos, Fundus photos and OCT.
  • Coordinate patient referrals and assist with phone triage.
  • Sterilize instruments and maintain ophthalmic instruments or equipment.
  • Support front desk as needed to schedule patients, verify insurance eligibility and assist with patient flow in office.
  • Help to manage doctors' schedules to maintain a full and busy practice.
  • Treat patients with the utmost respect and compassion while maintaining patient confidentiality.
  • May perform a variety of office, clerical and support tasks as needed.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Medical experience preferred, preferably in an optometry office.
  • Customer service experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills required, with a high level of tact and professionalism.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills required.
  • Work effectively and calmly with frequent interruptions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to multi-task and handle multiple customer interactions/phone calls at once.
  • Maintain professional demeanor and demonstrate superb customer service under all circumstances.
Job Type:
Full-time Pay:
$18.00 - $21.00 per hour
