About Us:
Sugar River Eye Care is an independently owned optometry practice in Verona, WI. We've been open for almost one year and are excited to bring on another great team member. We have created a welcoming space where patients truly feel taken care of and where team members are excited to come to work. As a smaller practice, we need this new team member to be cross-trained for both the Optician and Optometric Technician roles. Experience preferred but we are willing to train the right, motivated person!
What You'll Do:
Help patients select and fit stylish, high-quality eyewear Perform fittings, adjustments, and dispensing of glasses Maintain knowledge of frame inventory and lens options Verify insurance and explain vision benefits (VSP, EyeMed, Spectera, Davis Vision, etc.) Assist the doctor with pretesting (taking retinal photos and performing other tests before patients see the doctor) Answer phones, schedule appointments, and provide exceptional front desk support Be flexible and ready to adapt as the practice evolves Contribute to practice growth and patient experience
Who You Are:
Prior optical experience preferred but not required Strong customer service and communication skills Detail-oriented and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment Comfortable learning and using technology, including our EHR system and other office software platforms Team player with a positive attitude and passion for eye care Available to work 0.50-1.00 FTE , including one Saturday per month to start — with the understanding that hours and scheduling needs may change as the practice grows Why Join Us?
