The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care within our ophthalmology practice. This position involves assisting ophthalmologists with various clinical tasks in a timely manner. The Ophthalmic Technician will be responsible for performing preliminary examinations, obtaining OCT's, Visual Fields, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Experience as a medical scribe desired. Duties Conduct patient intake by gathering medical history and relevant information. Assist in performing diagnostic tests such as OCT's, Visual Fields, Lenstar and procedures related to ophthalmology. Utilize EMR systems, to document patient information and maintain medical records. Educate patients on pre-operative and post-operative care instructions. Ensure the clinic environment is clean, organized, and compliant with health regulations. Experience Candidates should possess the following experience or skills: Previous Ophthalmic experience in patient care within a medical office setting is preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and HIPAA regulations is essential. Familiarity with ophthalmology practices or optical experience is highly desirable. Experience with EMR systems.
