We are committed to providing exceptional eye care and personalized service to our community, fostering a welcoming and professional environment for both patients and staff. Overview We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Optometric Lab Technician to join our team. In this vital role, you will support the clinical operations by edging lenses and preparing optical products, assisting with patient care, and ensuring the smooth functioning of our practice. Your expertise will help us deliver top-quality vision solutions while maintaining compliance with healthcare standards. Responsibilities Prepare and assemble eyewear, lenses, frames, and other optical components, ensuring accuracy and quality control Assist with patient intake procedures, including collecting vital signs and updating medical records in electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or other EMR platforms Maintain aseptic techniques during procedures to ensure patient safety and adhere to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy and confidentiality Support ophthalmology and optometry staff by managing optical inventory and ordering supplies as needed Perform basic clinical tasks such as measuring pupillary distance, verifying prescriptions, and assisting with vision tests Ensure proper documentation of medical records, including notes on patient care, medical coding, billing, and insurance processing Provide excellent patient care by answering questions related to eyewear options, retail sales, and clinic services while maintaining a friendly front desk presence Qualifications Prior experience in optical or ophthalmology settings is highly preferred Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology related to eye health, and HIPAA compliance standards Familiarity with EMR systems such as Epic or similar platforms for managing electronic medical records Experience with intake procedures, vital signs measurement, and aseptic techniques in a clinical environment Strong retail sales skills combined with clinic experience to support patient needs effectively Basic understanding of medical billing, coding, and pediatrics is a plus Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and professionalism Join us to be part of a passionate team dedicated to improving vision health!
