Optician

Job Overview We are seeking a knowledgeable, friendly, and detail-oriented Optician to join our team. As the main point person for selling glasses, you will guide patients through frame selection, lens options, and the eyewear purchasing process. This position requires 40 hours per week in the office, with a schedule of 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Team members are eligible for performance-based bonuses tied to sales, providing additional rewards for achieving key goals Duties Serve as the primary point of contact for all eyewear sales, guiding patients through the frame and lens choice Take precise measurements of patients' eyes, Operate optical equipment such as lensometers, autorefractors, and laboratory tools to facilitate lens fabrication and quality control. Educate patients on products and lens type. Recommend lens materials, coatings and insurance coverage Perform adjustments, repair, and maintenance Uphold HIPAA regulations and confidentiality during all interactions Bill insurance of eyewear and exam services, and collect necessary payment Manage frame inventory and frame board Perform technician duties Requirements High school diploma of GED required State licensure or ABO certification (if applicable) Prior experience in optical retail is a plus Strong knowledge of lens type and optometry terminology is a plus Excellent sales, communication and customer service skills Able to lift up to 50 lbs as needed Who we are We are a specialty eye care clinic dedicated to putting our patients' needs first.
