Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic optical care team as a Contact Lens Technician, where your expertise will directly enhance patient experiences and vision health. In this vital role, you will assist in training, dispensing, and managing contact lens prescriptions while ensuring compliance with healthcare standards. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will contribute to a welcoming environment that promotes clear vision and patient satisfaction. Duties Assist patients in selecting and fitting contact lenses, ensuring proper fit and comfort based on individual prescriptions and anatomy knowledge Educate patients on contact lens care, hygiene practices, and proper handling techniques to promote eye health and safety Conduct pre-examination procedures including taking medical history reviews, and assessing ocular health using medical terminology expertise Manage contact lens inventory, including ordering supplies, maintaining aseptic techniques during handling, and documenting in electronic medical records (EMR) system Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient medical records and sensitive information during all interactions Assist with clinic operations by managing retail sales of optical products, processing billing, and applying retail math skills for inventory management Qualifications Prior experience in optical settings is highly preferred; familiarity with clinic workflows enhances success in this role Strong knowledge of physiology and anatomy related to the eye, along with understanding of medical terminology used in eye care Excellent communication skills for patient education and collaboration with healthcare professionals Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality of all medical records and patient information Sales experience is a plus, especially in optical or healthcare product environments Demonstrated ability to follow aseptic techniques during contact lens handling Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment that values attention to detail, organization, and patient-centered care This position is ideal for motivated individuals eager to grow their expertise in eye care while making a meaningful difference in patients' lives. Pay:
$18.00 - $21.00 per hour
