Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented Optician to join our dedicated healthcare team. In this vital role, you will assist patients in selecting and fitting eyewear, and provide exceptional customer service. Your expertise will help ensure patients receive personalized care while maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to combine technical skills with compassionate patient interaction, all within a fast-paced, innovative environment. Responsibilities Assist patients in choosing appropriate eyewear based on prescriptions, lifestyle needs, and personal preferences. Take precise measurements for lens and frame fitting, ensuring optimal comfort and vision correction. Manage optical inventory, including ordering supplies, lab work coordination, and ensuring aseptic techniques during lens processing. Educate patients on proper eyewear care, medical terminology related to eye health, and the importance of regular eye exams. Assist patients in contact lens care and insertion and removal techniques. Submit lab orders privately, and via VSP and EyeMed portals. Qualifications Previous optical experience required. Minimum 3 years. Knowledge of VSP and EyeMed billing. Bilingual Spanish/English Knowledge of Practice Management software. Excellent customer service skills with a passion for helping others; retail sales experience is beneficial. Ability to understand medical records, vital signs, and clinic procedures relevant to optometry/ophthalmology practice. Strong communication skills to effectively educate patients about their eye health and treatment options.
