Job Overview Join our dynamic team as an Optical Consultant, where your passion for eye health and exceptional customer service will shine! In this role, you will be the primary point of contact for patients seeking vision care and eyewear solutions. You will combine your expertise in optical products, medical terminology, and clinic experience to guide patients through their eye health journey. Your energetic approach will help educate customers on the latest eyewear options, assist with frame selections, and ensure a seamless experience using advanced EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Epic. This paid position offers a fantastic opportunity to grow your skills in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment dedicated to improving vision and quality of life. Duties Greet patients warmly and assess their optical needs with enthusiasm and professionalism Conduct comprehensive eye exams, including measuring vital signs and evaluating visual acuity Assist patients in selecting appropriate eyewear by leveraging retail sales skills and knowledge of optical products Educate patients on lens options, frame styles, and proper eye care practices based on physiology knowledge and medical terminology Manage patient records accurately within EMR systems such as Epic, ensuring HIPAA compliance at all times Perform laboratory tasks including lens fitting, adjustments, and verifying optical prescriptions with precision Support senior care patients by understanding their unique needs and providing compassionate service tailored to their conditions Qualifications Prior experience in optical sales or clinic settings is highly desirable Strong knowledge of ophthalmology, anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology Familiarity with EMR systems such as Epic or similar platforms is preferred Experience with medical billing, coding, and medical records management is a plus Ability to perform vital signs measurement and aseptic techniques when necessary Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and data security Retail management or retail math experience is advantageous for handling transactions effectively Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly to diverse patient populations Embark on a rewarding career where your expertise makes a real difference!
