Optical Service Clerk LEVEL:
Non-Exempt
SALARY RANGE
$20 - $24 p/h
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP
Reports to the Senior Director for IEI Administration
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Completes processing of patient optical orders, including ordering lenses and frames, packaging, and assembly for delivery to the patient. Web-based and phone lab and frame ordering. Documents all patient order information in software. Web-based vision plan and service billing. Assists with orders, inventory, and reports. Processes materials/pharmaceutical orders and delivers to all IEI Service areas. Maintains an orderly and organized environment. Assists supervisor with inventory management of frames, accessories, and IEI office supplies/pharmaceuticals inventory. Serves as a primary resource to internal customers, optical laboratories, and frame vendors. Provides support and initial problem-solving for all patient orders and internal customers. Assures eyewear order quality control. Must deliver and pick up orders, packages, and supplies from various areas of the campus.
MARGINAL FUNCTIONS
Other duties as assigned by the Director of Optical Services & Material Management Operations
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Proven, highly proficient computer/software/technology skills. Healthcare or ophthalmic experience preferred. Requires the ability to handle a variety of tasks with speed, attention to detail, and accuracy. Must be substantially organized and methodical. Discretion and confidentiality. Page Break
