Job Description

About us Esther V. Rettig, MD PA is a fast growing, 2 doctor practice with locations in McPherson and Salina, KS. We provide comprehensive ophthalmology and surgical eye care. We are an efficient, streamlined patient-centered practice.
Duties:
Provide exceptional customer service at all times to both external and internal customers. Assist patients in selecting frames according to style and color. Educate and recommend specific lenses, lens coatings and frames to suit patient needs. Accurately collect measurements such as bridge, eye size, temple length, seg heights, vertex distance, pupillary distance, and pantoscopic tilt. Process orders for eyewear and contact lenses for self-pay, DME, VSP and EyeMed. Check in all incoming orders to ensure quality and accuracy. Able to operate the manual lensometer. Dispense patient orders. Educate customers on proper eyewear care and maintenance. Adjust and repair eyewear as needed. Maintain accurate records of customer prescriptions and orders. Collaborate with optometrists and ophthalmologists to ensure accurate prescription fulfillment. Stay educated on current brand knowledge and new technology. Assist other areas when needed.
Qualifications:
Previous experience as an optician preferred. Strong knowledge of optical products, including frames, lenses, and contact lenses. Familiarity with retail management principles and practices. Proficient in retail math calculations for pricing and discounts. Experience working with medical records and medical billing systems, such as VisionWeb, is a plus. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with customers and healthcare professionals. Detail-oriented with the ability to accurately measure and fit eyewear. Strong problem-solving skills to address customer concerns or issues with prescriptions or eyewear. ABOC not required, but achieving this certification desired.
