Job Summary Join our dynamic healthcare team as an Optician, where your expertise will directly enhance patient care and vision health. In this vital role, you will assist patients in selecting eyewear, perform comprehensive eye assessments, and support ophthalmology professionals with clinical and administrative tasks. Duties Assist patients in choosing eyeglasses and contact lenses by providing expert guidance on frame styles, lens options, and prescriptions. Manage medical records accurately using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Perform tasks such as lens fitting, and quality control to ensure optimal optical performance. Handle retail sales transactions efficiently, applying retail math principles to manage inventory and process billing using medical coding and billing standards. Maintain a clean, organized workspace following infection control procedures and aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety. Verifying insurance information accurately. Engage with patients of all ages, including pediatrics and senior care populations, demonstrating sensitivity to diverse needs. Experience Previous experience working in an optical setting or retail environment is highly preferred. Understanding of HIPAA regulations ensures confidentiality and proper handling of medical records. Experience in retail sales or retail management demonstrates strong customer service skills and sales aptitude. Background in patient care is a plus, reflecting versatility in patient interactions. $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
