Licensed Optician vigilant healthcare solutions Baltimore, MD Job Details Full-time | Contract 20 hours ago Benefits Referral program Qualifications ANSI standards Optician License ABO Certification Full Job Description Vigilant Healthcare Solutions is seeking Licensed Opticians / ABO-Certified Opticians to join a collaborative and highly respected eye care team. This is a long-term onsite healthcare contract opportunity in a professional optical clinic environment where patient service, prescription accuracy, and quality eyewear support are top priorities. You will assist patients with prescription eyewear selection, fitting, measurement, adjustment, repair, and documentation while working alongside optometrists, ophthalmologists, prosthetics/optical support staff, and other healthcare professionals. Multiple positions may be available, offering the opportunity to be part of a strong, team-oriented optical care setting. What You'll Do Assist patients with frame selection, lifestyle needs, prescription eyewear options, and proper fit Take accurate optical measurements, including pupillary distance, segment height, base curve, and frame measurements Verify eyeglass prescription specifications and ensure eyewear orders match clinical requirements Perform minor eyeglass repairs and adjustments, including nose pad replacement, screw replacement, frame adjustments, and basic troubleshooting Use optical tools and equipment such as a lensometer, pupilometer, PD ruler, frame warmer, lens clock, calipers, and UV light meter Document patient care and eyewear-related services accurately in approved clinical systems Provide professional, timely, and courteous service to patients and clinical staff What We're Looking For Licensed Optician required where state licensure applies ABO Certification required for candidates working in states without optician licensure Current, full, and unrestricted optician license and/or certification required Experience with optical dispensing, eyeglass fitting, frame selection, eyewear measurements, and prescription verification Knowledge of ANSI ophthalmic lens and frame standards preferred Ability to use standard optical tools, perform basic repairs, and maintain high attention to detail Strong patient service, communication, and documentation skills Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English fluently Ability to meet onboarding, credentialing, background, health screening, and training requirements Schedule & Coverage Monday through Friday 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM Occasional Saturday or extended clinic coverage may be requested with advance notice
