Job Description

Licensed Optician / ABO-Certified OpticianBaltimore VA Medical Center & Community-Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs) Baltimore, Maryland Make a Difference for Our Nation's Veterans Medley Strategic Solutions (MSS) is seeking an experienced Licensed Optician or ABO-Certified Optician to provide onsite optical dispensing services for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Maryland Health Care System. In this role, you will work directly with Veterans, assisting with eyewear selection, fittings, adjustments, repairs, and patient education while delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring compliance with VA standards. Schedule ✅ Full-Time (40 Hours Per Week) ✅ Monday - Friday ✅ 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM ✅ Federal Holidays Off ✅ No Weekends Required (unless special clinics are scheduled) Work Locations Services may be provided at one or more of the following VA facilities: Baltimore VA Medical Center Loch Raven VA Medical Center Perry Point VA Medical Center Baltimore Community-Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) Cambridge CBOC Eastern Baltimore County CBOC Fort Meade CBOC Glen Burnie CBOC Pocomoke City CBOC Key Responsibilities As an Optician, you will: Assist Veterans with frame selection and eyewear recommendations Measure pupillary distance (PD), segment heights, and fitting requirements Verify optical prescriptions issued by VA Optometrists and Ophthalmologists Perform eyewear fittings and dispensing services Adjust, repair, and troubleshoot eyeglasses, including: Frame adjustments Nose pad replacements Screw replacements Minor frame repairs Educate Veterans on proper eyewear use and care Answer questions regarding eyeglass orders and status Document services in VA electronic medical record systems Maintain compliance with VA, FDA, ANSI, Joint Commission, and CMS standards Deliver outstanding customer service to Veteran patients QualificationsCandidates Must Meet ONE of the

For States Requiring Licensure:
Current, unrestricted
State Optician License OR For States Without Optician Licensure:
