The ideal candidate will possess a strong passion for eye care, retail sales, and providing exceptional customer service. This role involves assisting patients with selecting eyewear, conducting basic vision assessments, and supporting clinical staff with optical and medical procedures. The successful applicant will demonstrate excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a comprehensive understanding of optical products and medical terminology. This paid position offers an opportunity to grow within a healthcare-focused retail environment while making a positive impact on patients' vision health. We are looking to fill a full time position but are not apposed working with someone looking for part time hours as well. Duties Assist customers in selecting appropriate eyewear based on their prescriptions, lifestyle needs, and personal preferences. Conduct preliminary vision screenings and measure vital signs as part of routine patient assessments. Support the clinical team with laboratory tasks such as lens fitting, adjustments, and frame repairs. Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with HIPAA privacy regulations. Manage inventory of optical supplies, lenses, frames, and related products using retail math principles. Educate patients on proper eyewear care, lens options, and the importance of regular eye exams. Utilize electronic medical record (EMR) systems like Eyefinity or similar platforms for documentation and scheduling. Uphold aseptic techniques during any clinical procedures to ensure patient safety and hygiene standards are met. Assist in retail sales operations, including processing transactions, managing stock levels, and visual merchandising. Collaborate with senior care providers to accommodate the needs of elderly or special population patients. Skills Strong knowledge of ophthalmology principles, anatomy of the eye, and physiology relevant to vision care. Familiarity with medical terminology related to eye health, pediatrics, and senior care populations. Experience working with Eyefinity systems such as Encompass or other clinic management software. Proficiency in medical billing and coding practices specific to ophthalmology services. Retail management skills including retail math for inventory control and sales analysis. Laboratory experience with lens fitting, frame adjustments, and optical device handling. Excellent communication skills for engaging with diverse patient populations and team members. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality of medical records and patient information.
