Optician (Optical Specialist) - Private Practice | Neuro-Optometric Rehabilitation Full-Time or Part-Time Opportunities Available Are you someone who believes that caring for people matters just as much as technical skill? Whether you're an experienced optician or someone eager to learn the optical field , we are looking for a compassionate team member to join our private, patient-centered practice specializing in neuro-optometric rehabilitation . About Our Practice We help patients with visual challenges related to neurological conditions such as brain injury, stroke, concussion, and visual processing disorders. Many of our patients are navigating significant life changes, and we are committed to care that is not only clinically excellent, but deeply empathetic and supportive. What You'll Do Assist patients in selecting frames and lenses with patience and understanding Learn and help implement specialized prescriptions from neuro-optometric evaluations Fit, adjust, and troubleshoot eyewear to maximize comfort and function Educate patients and families about eyewear options and visual rehabilitation tools Work closely with doctors and therapy staff to support patient care plans Help create a calm, welcoming, and respectful environment Training & Development We are committed to setting you up for success— no prior optical experience required . Structured, hands-on training in optical fundamentals, including lens types, measurements, and frame adjustments One-on-one mentorship with experienced team members and providers Step-by-step learning of neuro-optometric prescriptions and specialty lenses Ongoing coaching focused on both technical skills and patient communication Opportunities to grow into advanced optical roles as your confidence and skills develop You'll be supported every step of the way as you build both knowledge and confidence in this specialized field. What Sets You Apart Empathy is essential — you genuinely connect, listen, and care Strong communication skills, especially with patients facing visual or cognitive challenges A desire to learn and grow—even without prior optical experience Patience, flexibility, and attention to detail A team-oriented mindset and positive attitude Qualifications Optical experience or ABO certification is a plus—but not required We welcome candidates from customer service, healthcare, retail, or caregiving backgrounds Willingness to learn technical skills and embrace ongoing training Interest in helping patients in a rehabilitative care setting Why Join Us?
