The successful candidate for our Optician•Frame and Lens Specialist position should possess a pleasant personality, positive attitude, great attention to detail, work well under pressure and love to provide outstanding customer service! We care about people. Heights Eyecare is seeking a friendly, reliable team member to join our busy 6 doctor practice as an Optician. High school or equivalent (Required) What you need to succeed: Smile Energetic and amiable personality Team player with a positive attitude Ability to be resourceful and proactive•take initiative Critical thinking and problem solving skills Customer Focus Professionalism Social Perceptiveness Intuitive knowledge and skills to operate technology devices effectively Eagerness to learn within the healthcare field Excellent work ethic and people skills Time awareness What you will do: Assist clients in selecting frames according to style and color and ensure that frames are coordinated with facial and eye measurements and optical prescriptions. Recommend specific lenses, lens coatings, and frames to suit client needs Prepare work orders and instructions for lenses and eyeglasses. Measure clients' bridge and eye size, temple length, vertex distance, pupillary distance, and optical centers of eyes, using measuring devices. Verify that finished lenses are made to specifications. Heat, shape, or bend plastic or metal frames to adjust eyeglasses to fit clients, using pliers and hands. Evaluate prescriptions in conjunction with clients' vocational and avocational visual requirements. Maintain records of customer prescriptions, work orders, and payments. Instruct clients in how to wear and care for eyeglasses. Other duties as assigned.
What will set you apart:
6+ months of working as an Optician or in the optical field ABO Certification (preferred) Experience in a busy, complex office environment (strongly preferred) Experience in a healthcare environment (preferred) Demonstrate knowledge of benefits and services including eligibility requirements Demonstrated ability to show sustained success in a job over time Demonstrated ability to build on a strong foundation for long-term growth What we offer: No working evenings, Saturdays or Sundays!! 1 Hour lunch breaks Paid Personal Time Off Paid Holidays Health Insurance Monthly bonus program 401K matching (after 1 year) Fashionable Eyewear discount Ongoing education in the Eyecare field We are willing to train optical skills, and the starting compensation will all depend upon the amount of training required and what level of expertise, but even a lesser experienced Optician•Frame and Lens Specialist who can demonstrate learning skills quickly, shows us commitment and can work hard, has the ability to earn more.
