Job Description
Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Optician ABO Certified or equivalent (2+ years experience) to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional eye care services to our patients. As an Optician, you will assist in fitting, dispensing, and adjusting eyewear while ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. This position requires a strong understanding of optical products and excellent customer service skills. Duties
- Assist patients in selecting appropriate eyewear based on their prescription and lifestyle needs.
- Conduct fittings and adjustments of eyeglasses and contact lenses.
- Maintain accurate patient records while adhering to HIPAA regulations.
- Utilize electronic health record systems such as OfficeMate EHR for patient management.
- Provide education to patients regarding proper eyewear care and usage.
- Ensure the optical area is clean, organized, and compliant with aseptic techniques.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals in pediatrics and senior care settings to provide tailored optical solutions.
- Support retail management functions, including inventory control and sales strategies.
- Stay updated on the latest trends in optical products and technologies. Skills
- Strong knowledge of optical principles and practices.
- Experience in a clinical setting, particularly with pediatrics or senior care.
- Familiarity with medical coding related to optical services is a plus.
- Proficient in using electronic health record systems.
- Excellent communication skills for effective patient interaction.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Customer service oriented with a passion for helping others.
