WHO WE ARE
Eye Consultants, P.C. And Eye Optics is a well established and busy optometric practice specialize in comprehensive eye care. We are seeking an energetic, ambitious, motivated, sales oriented individuals with exceptional customer service skills to join our team. The right candidate must have has a desire to learn, using critical thinking and problem solving skills. As an Optical Technician, your role is to ensure our patients have an outstanding eye care experience. You will be part of a team responsible for assisting our patients in selecting lenses and frames that fit their lifestyle and sense of fashion. Engaging with patients in an authentic way by sharing expertise & experience related to their eyewear needs. Additionally, the optician drives profitable sales growth and patient retention by providing exceptional service; attracting and retaining patients for life.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple patients simultaneously. Strong organizational ability with attention to detail. Empathetic customer service focused personality with ability to demonstrate concern for patients' needs while showing enthusiasm toward sales goals. computer literacy proficiency in typing Demonstrate a team player attitude with the ability to work as part of a team to achieve performance metrics.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Assists and educates patients with the selection of frames, lenses, and lens enhancements based on the patient's prescription and specific needs. Measures pupillary distances, bifocal, trifocal and progressive placement. Select and measures frame for facial contour, eye size, bridge size and temple length. Fits and adjusts eye wear to the face and eyes; makes minor repairs to eye wear. Educate our patients on their prescriptions as well as effectively demonstrate doctor recommendations Processes eyeglasses, which includes pricing, measuring, collecting money, coding and documenting patient charts. Maintains clean, organized and stocked eyeglass displays. May assist patients with the fitting of contact lenses, teach new contact lens wearer how to insert, remove, clean and care for lenses. Promote limited time specials, events & services to patients. Driving profitable store sales by fostering a positive and collaborative selling culture. Collaborate with peers and managers to enhance patient care, solve problems, boost performance and create a positive workspace taking an active role in company culture adding value to the team and company
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
high school diploma or equivalent experience. 3 years of previous retail sales or commission sales experience 1 year of previous Optician experience knowledge of primary vision insurances
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

This position is performed in an retail office environment and requires periods of sitting or standing that may last one hour or longer. The employee is regularly required to use hands to handle or feel and talk or hear softly spoken words. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms,stoop, crouch, reaching overhead, pushing or pulling. Manual dexterity is required. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 5 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Job pressures are moderate to high for meeting sales goals, working on multiple tasks at one time, and frequent interruptions. Occupational requirements for this position include the ability to see, hear, and speak clearly and distinctly. The mental ability required is high for reasoning, reading, remembering, writing, and speaking. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
