OpticianResponsibilities Provides exceptional patient service Answers phones and schedules appointments Greets and welcomes patients to the practice Performs examination pretesting Trains patients how to wear contact lenses Assists doctor with patients as needs arise Record patient data in practice management software Collects and records patient payments Works with patients to find eyewear that meets their needs Accurately records patient eyewear measurements Orders eyewear, checks for accuracy when orders are received Dispenses eyewear while ensuring proper fitting and adjusts as needed Manages office inventory and optical ordering Troubleshoots patients eyewear concerns Other duties as needed

Qualifications Preferred:

One or more years of experience as an optician in an optometric practice (Willing to train the right candidate with the willingness and desire to learn!) Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills Hardworking, reliable & flexible Proficient with computer use including scanning, importing/exporting documents, email, Microsoft Word & comfort using an electronic medical records/scheduling system. Strong attention to detail, strong organizational skills & ability to multitask. Must comply with HIPAA confidentiality standards when communicating patient information Communication skills and the ability to coordinate and cooperate with all levels of employees in a courteous, professional manner at all times Desire to gain industry knowledge and training Demonstrates initiative in accomplishing practice goals Flexibility in your schedule to meet the needs of the business Education and / or

Experience:

Minimum Required:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.

Preferred:

One year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
