About Us We are a boutique optometry practice in the Upper East Side. We offer comprehensive eye care to patients of all ages and are looking for another experienced Optician to join our expanding team. Candidates must have at least three years of experience working in a retail optical setting. Optical sales a must! Qualities we value are reliability, punctuality, strong customer service, sales experience, ability to multi-task, and a positive attitude. Our office hours are Tuesday-Friday 10am-6pm and Saturday 9am-5pm. Saturdays are required. Our office is conveniently located near the Q and 4,5,6 trains. Pay is commensurate with experience. There is a 90-day probationary period. Responsibilities Assist patients in selecting frames that suit their style and prescriptions Educate patients on lens options appropriate for their prescriptions, including anti-reflective coatings, lens materials, and progressive lens designs Verify optical and medical insurance eligibility Bill vision insurances for eyeglasses and contact lens orders Take and record custom measurements accurately Perform adjustments, repairs, and maintenance on glasses Order and dispense contact lenses Order and dispense eyeglasses Train patients to insert & remove contact lenses Cross-train to assist in other areas within the office

Administrative Duties:

Checking in patients, booking appointments, collecting payments and checking out patients Experience/Education High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous experience in sales required. Minimum 3 years of experience in an optical setting required. Ophthalmic Dispensing License preferred. Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
