Job Description

Busy, well established ophthalmology practice currently seeking an Optician to join our team. Our Opticians are an important member of our Clinic Team and are expected to make the following contributions to our success:
Duties:
Meet and greet patients as they enter the clinic in a warm and professional manner Listen and understand the needs of our patients and interact in a positive and welcoming manner Work directly with patients fitting glasses, and all other optical needs Strong knowledge of materials and optic guidelines Assist customers in selecting and fitting eyeglasses Take accurate measurements of customers' eyes and facial features Interpret prescriptions written by optometrists or ophthalmologists Educate customers on proper eyewear care and maintenance Adjust and repair eyeglasses as needed Process orders for eyewear Maintain inventory of eyewear Provide exceptional customer service and address customer concerns
Requirements:
  • Previous experience as an optician
  • Knowledge of optical systems, including lens materials, coatings, and designs
  • Strong retail sales skills to effectively assist customers in selecting frames and lenses
  • Understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality
  • Proficiency in using electronic health record systems, for patient documentation
  • Familiarity with medical billing processes related to vision care services
  • Knowledge of aseptic technique to maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the dispensing area
  • Excellent sales skills to promote additional products or upgrades to customers
  • Familiarity with medical terminology related to ophthalmology We offer competitive compensation and benefits packages.
