Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as an Optical Assistant, where your enthusiasm and attention to detail will play a vital role in delivering exceptional eye care services. In this energetic position, you will support the optometrist by assisting with patient care, managing optical products, and ensuring smooth clinic operations. Your proactive approach will help create a welcoming environment for patients of all ages, including pediatrics and senior care populations. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to grow your skills in medical and optical fields while making a meaningful difference in patients' lives. Duties Greet patients warmly, verify their information, and assist with appointment scheduling Prepare examination rooms, sterilize equipment following aseptic techniques, and ensure all optical instruments are properly maintained Take vital signs and gather patient history related to vision health, including symptoms and medical background such as ophthalmology-related conditions Assist with vision tests and pretesting manage optical inventory, including stocking frames, and accessories. Educate patients on eyewear options, lens choices, and proper use; process sales while providing excellent customer service in a retail environment Support medical billing and coding processes related to optical services and ensure accurate documentation of medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations
Skills:
Basic understanding of medical billing practices retail management skills including retail sales techniques, retail math calculations, and customer service excellence Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and data security at all times If you do not have any of this experience, we will train you! Pay:
$16.00 - $22.00 per hour
