Job Description

Our employees perform a variety of tasks including answering telephones, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance, pre-testing patients, assisting patients with frame selection, instructing patients on contact lens insertion and care, and customer service. Experience required. Summary As an Optician/Optometric Assistant, you will be integral to delivering outstanding customer service while assisting in various ophthalmic tasks. This role requires core skills in ophthalmology, medical terminology, and anatomy, alongside premium skills in patient care and HIPAA compliance. You will support the optometric team by performing intake procedures and managing medical records. Join us in enhancing patient experiences and contributing to our clinic's success. Qualifications Strong customer service skills Basic knowledge of ophthalmology and medical terminology Understanding of anatomy and physiology Familiarity with medical office procedures and HIPAA regulations Ability to assist with patient care and intake processes Experience with EMR systems and retail sales is a plus, but not required Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment Responsibilities Assist patients and provide exceptional customer service throughout their visit. Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations. Conduct patient intake, including gathering medical history and vital signs. Educate patients on eyewear options and assist with retail sales. Utilize EMR systems to document patient information and manage appointments. Collaborate with the optometrist to ensure a smooth workflow in the clinic.
