This energetic position combines technical expertise with compassionate customer service, ensuring each patient receives personalized care and expert optical solutions. As an Optician, you will assist patients in selecting eyewear, perform detailed measurements, and support clinical staff with vital assessments and medical record management. Your enthusiasm for eye care and dedication to excellence will help us deliver outstanding service in a fast-paced, innovative environment. Responsibilities Assist patients in selecting eyeglasses and contact lenses that meet their needs, preferences, and prescriptions Take precise measurements of pupillary distance, frame fitting, and lens parameters to ensure optimal visual correction Support ophthalmology and clinic staff with basic eye assessments, including vital signs and anatomy knowledge applications Maintain accurate medical records using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems such as Epic or similar platforms Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient confidentiality during all interactions and documentation Perform laboratory tasks such as lens edging, mounting, and quality checks to ensure high standards of optical craftsmanship Educate patients on proper eyewear care, medical terminology related to eye health, and the importance of regular check-ups Support retail sales efforts by promoting eyewear products, managing retail math calculations, and contributing to retail management goals Experience Prior experience working in optical retail or clinic environments is highly preferred Knowledge of ophthalmology procedures, medical coding, and medical billing practices is advantageous Familiarity with EMR systems like Epic or other healthcare software platforms is a plus Demonstrated understanding of physiology, anatomy of the eye, and aseptic techniques for clinical procedures Experience with pediatric and senior care populations to provide tailored support for diverse patient needs Retail sales experience combined with strong communication skills to foster positive customer relationships Ability to handle laboratory equipment safely while maintaining a focus on quality control standards Join us to make a meaningful difference in people's lives through expert eye care!
