Optician Shah Eye Center - 2.8 Mission, TX Job Details Full-time $11 - $12 an hour 5 days ago Qualifications OSHA (regulatory compliance area) Finished product defect inspection Optical experience Maintaining an organized workspace Inventory control Medicare Maintaining patient confidentiality Merchandising HIPAA Mid-level Grinding Deposits Clean workspace maintenance Patient emergency assistance Balancing end-of-day transactions Full Job Description Design, measure, fit and adapt lenses and frames for client according to written optical prescription or specification. Assist clients with selecting frames. Measure customer for size of eyeglasses and coordinates frames with facial and eye measurements and optical prescription. Prepare work order for optical laboratory containing instructions for grinding and mounting lenses in frames. Verify exactness of finished lens spectacles. Adjust frame and lens position to fit client. May shape or reshape frames. Optimizes clients' satisfaction by answering questions. Must maintain Optical area in a clean, organized manner at all times. Help patients in distress by responding to emergencies. Protect patients' rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal and financial information. Maintain operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes. Must handle a multitude of duties at the same time. Attend health fairs, markets services to physician's offices as needed. Runs daily reports, reconciles accounts and deposit transactions. At all times, employee is responsible for: 1. Protecting the physician's license; 2. Maintaining confidential any and all information accessible while performing job duties; 3. Staying in compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, OSHA, HIPAA, OIG, and any other legal and/or contractual obligations. Duties of the
Job:
. Interpretation of prescriptions written by ophthalmologist and optometrists . Collection of eye measurements including corneal width and thickness . Helping clients select eyeglass and lens treatments including tints and coatings . Creating work orders for lab technicians to ensure delivery of the proper lenses . Adjusting eyeglasses to ensure proper fit . Repairing broken frames . Educating clients on proper eyeglasses and contact lens care . Keeps track of orders, prescriptions, and inventory . Ensures that deposits are submitted daily as required. . Ensures that Petty Cash is accurate on a daily basis. . Ensure that merchandise , and display cases are clean, presentable, and stocked . Run errands, send/receive faxes. . Send out warranty of glasses . Maintains optical in a clean and organized manner at all times . Attends health fairs. .
