Optician

Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Optician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting patients with their eyewear needs, including fitting and dispensing glasses and contact lenses. This role requires a strong understanding of optical products and services, as well as the ability to provide exceptional customer service in a clinic or retail environment. Duties Greet patients and assess their eyewear needs through consultations. Accurately fit and dispense eyeglasses based on prescriptions. Provide education to patients regarding lens options, frame styles, and proper eyewear care. Maintain patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Assist with medical billing and coding for insurance claims related to optical services. Manage inventory of optical products, ensuring availability of frames and lenses. Utilize retail math skills to assist in sales transactions and inventory management. Stay updated on the latest optical technology and trends within the industry. Qualifications Previous experience as an Optician or in a similar role within an optical or ophthalmology setting is preferred but not required. We are willing to train the right candidate. Familiarity with electronic health record systems is a plus but not required. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients. Attention to detail and accuracy in dispensing eyewear prescriptions. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism.
