  • Part-time, Full-time Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Lead Optician to oversee optical services within our beautiful boutique practice.
Cypress Family Eyecare is under new ownership. Dr. Jennifer Bird is seeking a lead optician to help manage daily optical operations, frame-styling, explanation of benefits to patients, file insurance, order lab jobs, frame-board management, meet with frame representatives. Ensure the delivery of accurate measurements and high-quality care to patients. Duties Lead the optical department by supervising secondary opticians, technicians, and support staff to ensure efficient workflow and excellent patient service. Ensure accurate dispensing of prescriptions, including understanding medical coding and billing procedures related to optical services. Maintain laboratory operations, including lens fitting, edging, and adjustments, utilizing laboratory experience and aseptic techniques. Manage inventory control for frames, lenses, and optical supplies while adhering to retail math principles to optimize stock levels. Oversee compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy and confidentiality in all interactions and record-keeping activities. Requirements Proven experience in optical services. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Epic or other electronic health record platforms. Demonstrated laboratory skills including lens edging, fitting, and aseptic techniques. Retail management experience combined with retail sales skills to support product promotion and customer engagement. Excellent communication skills for effective patient interactions and team leadership.
