In this role, you will bridge the gap between clinical care and retail fashion. You will interpret prescriptions, style patients with the perfect frames, and accurately measure and fit eyewear. The ideal candidate balances excellent technical optical skills with an energetic, sales-driven approach to customer service. Experience in optical is helpful but we are willing to train the right person who is motivated and eager to learn.

Responsibilities Patient Styling & Sales:

Guide patients through frame selection based on face shape, style preferences, and lifestyle. Educate patients on premium lens options, coatings (anti-reflective, blue-light), and second-pair options (sunglasses, reading glasses).

Technical Measurements:

Utilize lensometers, pupilometers, and PD sticks to take precise anatomical measurements for custom eyewear fitting.

Prescription Verification:

Review and interpret optical prescriptions from our Doctors. Inspect and verify incoming lab orders using a lensometer to ensure exact accuracy.

Dispensing & Adjusting:

Fit, adjust, and repair eyewear to ensure maximum patient comfort and proper visual alignment.

Insurance & Administration:

Verify vision insurance benefits (e.g., VSP, EyeMed), calculate patient out-of-pocket costs, and process payments accurately.

Inventory & Merchandising:

Maintain a clean, organized optical dispensary. Keep frame boards stocked, visually appealing, and assist in curating new frame vendor inventory. Uphold safety standards by adhering to infection control protocols and maintaining a clean work environment. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality at all times.

Qualifications & Skills Education:

High school diploma or equivalent required.
