We offer competitive compensation. The Optometric Assistant/Front desk is responsible for a variety of roles in the office. Leadership competencies such as Patient Care, A Drive for Results, Teamwork, and Critical Thinking will deliver successful top line results.vExceptional organization skills are required for success in this role, in addition to collaboration with the doctor and staff. No Weekends!
Position Summary Job Description:
Optometric Assistant Monitor patient schedule and communicate with other staff and doctors Pre-testing of patients Gather patient medical history Take retinal photos Clean equipment and keep exam and contact lens room neat and clean Check visual acuities and set phoroptor up for doctor Teach contact lens insertion and removal training Order & dispense contact lenses Order pharmaceuticals and exam room supplies Credit returns for contact lenses Secondary responsibilities when needed: Answer phones and back-up front desk Assist patients with eyewear purchases Dispense eyewear Adjust and repair of eyewear Required Qualifications Developed communication skills, both verbal and written. Strong critical thinking skills. Strong track record of cross-functional collaboration. Hands-on experience with POS transactions Solid communication and people skills A friendly and energetic personality with customer service focus Ability to perform under pressure and address complaints in a timely manner. Availability to work flexible shifts. Preferred Qualifications 1 Year experience in medical office setting Education High School Graduate or equivalent required. Bachelor's Degree preferred. Physical Requirements The tasks of this position generally require duties to be performed by: Use of close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Regularly stand/walk for the duration of shift. Occasionally required to sit, stoop, climb, or balance. Coordinated use of hands and fingers to grasp, feel objects, transfer small items from one hand to another, fine manipulation, and bilateral reach with arms. Safety and Ergonomic Requirements Must always adhere to safe work practices and report any unsafe conditions immediately. Attend and participate in all required safety trainings. Follow all personal dress requirements according to the established dress code and safety requirements.
Pay:
$19.00 - $21.00 per hour
