In this vital role, you will assist patients in selecting eyewear, and then order and bill for glasses. Your passion for optics, patient interaction, and retail sales will drive positive experiences and foster long-term relationships with our diverse community. Responsibilities Assist patients in choosing appropriate eyewear based on their prescriptions, lifestyle needs, and personal preferences Maintain accurate medical records and documentation using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) Ensure compliance with HIPAA and clinic-specific confidentiality policies during all patient interactions and record handling Perform laboratory tasks such as glasses measurements, frame adjustments, and quality checks to deliver precise optical solutions Educate patients about eye health, proper lens care, and available optical products while promoting retail sales of eyewear and accessories Support clinic operations by managing POS (Point of Sale) systems, processing medical billing codes, and adhering to health regulation policies Requirements Proven experience in retail optometry or optical settings with familiarity in retail math and sales strategies Strong knowledge of ophthalmology principles, anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and medical coding practices Experience with EMR systems such as Epic or other healthcare software platforms Understanding of HIPAA regulations, clinical confidentiality policies, and state healthcare regulations governing optometric practice Laboratory experience with lens fitting, aseptic techniques, and optical device adjustments Knowledge of medical billing procedures related to optometry services and familiarity with medical records management Excellent communication skills to educate patients effectively while supporting senior care initiatives when applicable This role is ideal for motivated individuals eager to grow within the healthcare sector while delivering exceptional eye care services.
