In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive eye examinations, diagnose and treat visual and ocular health issues, and deliver exceptional patient care. Your expertise will help improve patients' quality of life through clear vision and healthy eyes. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a collaborative environment focused on innovation, education, and community service. Responsibilities Conduct thorough eye examinations using advanced diagnostic tools to assess visual acuity, eye health, and overall ocular function Diagnose and manage common eye conditions such as refractive errors, glaucoma, cataracts, and ocular infections Prescribe corrective lenses and recommend appropriate treatment plans tailored to each patient's needs Maintain accurate and detailed medical records in Electronic Medical Record (EMR) or Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations Educate patients on eye health, preventive care, and proper use of corrective devices Collaborate with ophthalmologists and other healthcare professionals on complex cases involving ophthalmology or pediatrics Stay current with advancements in optometry, ophthalmology, medical terminology, and relevant medical coding standards to ensure best practices in patient care Skills Strong knowledge of ophthalmology principles and physiology related to eye health Proven experience with optical equipment and understanding of optical principles for vision correction Ability to provide specialized care for pediatric patients with patience and empathy Excellent patient care skills combined with outstanding customer service abilities Familiarity with anatomy knowledge pertinent to the eye structure and function Proficiency in using EMR/EHR systems for documentation and record management Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and data security Competence in performing vital signs assessment, aseptic technique, and medical records management Effective communication skills for explaining diagnoses, treatment options, and medical procedures clearly to patients Basic understanding of medical coding for billing purposes and familiarity with sales techniques for eyewear products Join us in making a difference by providing top-tier eye care that enhances lives.
