Job Description

Responsibilities:
  • Perform comprehensive eye examinations to assess vision and detect any ocular abnormalities or diseases.
  • Prescribe and fit corrective lenses or contact lenses based on patients' visual needs.
  • Diagnose and manage various eye conditions, such as glaucoma, cataracts, and macular degeneration.
  • Provide pre
  • and post-operative care for patients undergoing eye surgeries.
  • Educate patients on proper eye care practices, including hygiene, nutrition, and lifestyle modifications.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as ophthalmologists and opticians, to ensure coordinated patient care.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records for each patient.
Skills:
  • Strong sales skills to effectively communicate the benefits of various eyewear options to patients.
  • Proficient in aseptic technique to ensure a sterile environment during eye examinations and procedures.
  • Knowledge of ophthalmology principles and practices to accurately diagnose and manage eye conditions.
  • Experience in senior care to provide specialized eye care services for elderly patients.
  • Excellent patient care skills to establish rapport, address concerns, and provide personalized treatment plans.
  • Familiarity with medical systems for electronic health record management and appointment scheduling.
  • Understanding of medical terminology and coding to accurately document patient encounters and submit insurance claims.
  • In-depth knowledge of anatomy to assess the structure and function of the eyes.
  • Experience in pediatric optometry to provide comprehensive eye care for children.

Pay depends on quality of work, experience and number of hours willing to work.
