Job Description

Job Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Part-time or Full-time Optometrist, where you will play a vital role in providing exceptional eye care and vision services to diverse patient populations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to combine clinical expertise with compassionate patient interaction, ensuring optimal ocular health and visual comfort. You will be responsible for conducting comprehensive eye examinations, diagnosing and managing eye conditions, and delivering personalized treatment plans. Duties Perform thorough eye examinations utilizing advanced diagnostic tools and techniques to assess visual acuity, ocular health, and overall eye function Diagnose common and complex eye conditions such as glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration, and refractive errors Prescribe corrective lenses, medications, or refer patients for specialized treatments as needed Maintain accurate and detailed medical records using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) or Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems in compliance with HIPAA regulations Educate patients on eye health, preventive care, and proper use of eyewear or contact lenses Collaborate with ophthalmologists and other healthcare professionals on cases requiring specialized intervention in ophthalmology Ensure aseptic techniques during examinations and procedures to maintain a safe clinical environment Stay current with advancements in optometry, physiology knowledge, medical terminology, and medical coding practices to provide high-quality care Skills Strong knowledge of ophthalmology principles and anatomy relevant to eye health and vision correction Experience with optical equipment, contact lens fitting, and pediatric eye care is highly desirable Excellent patient care skills with a focus on customer service and effective communication Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for accurate documentation and record management Ability to interpret vital signs, medical records, and diagnostic test results accurately Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and data security Competence in medical coding for insurance billing purposes Demonstrated sales skills for promoting eyewear products or vision solutions when appropriate Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team This role offers an engaging environment where your expertise directly impacts patients' quality of life. Pay:
$55.00 - $65.00 per hour
