Optometrist - Green Spring Station

Position Description The Wilmer Eye Institute at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine is seeking an optometrist to join the comprehensive eye care division. This individual will work independently to provide primary ocular evaluations for patients at Wilmer Eye Institute's outpatient clinic location in Lutherville-Timonium, MD. Comprehensive care providers perform vision and medical eye exams within the bounds of individual licensure and Maryland's legal scope of practice. Common encounters include diabetic eye examinations; evaluation of dry eye disease, cataracts, and glaucoma suspicion; Plaquenil screenings; and triage of urgent eye or vision concerns. On-site referral/consultation for patients requiring surgical or advanced subspecialist care in glaucoma, retina, cornea, neuro-ophthalmology, oculoplastics, strabismus, and low vision rehabilitation. Vision care services include prescription of glasses and soft contact lenses, with the opportunity to build a practice in specialty therapeutic contact lenses. This salary range does not include all components of the Department of Ophthalmology faculty compensation program or pay from participation in the Department of Ophthalmology incentive compensation programs. • Minimum of one (1) year of experience and successful completion of accredited optometry residency program. Education
• Graduation from an accredited school of Optometry required.
• Completion of an accredited Optometry Residency required.
• License in good standing in State of Maryland required.
• National Provider Identification (NPI) required.

Salary Range The referenced salary range represents the minimum and maximum salaries for this position and is based on Johns Hopkins University's good faith belief at the time of posting. Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. The actual compensation offered to the selected candidate may vary and will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the successful candidate's geographic location, skills, work experience, internal equity, market conditions, education/training and other factors, as reasonably determined by the University.
