Job Description
Position Description The Wilmer Eye Institute at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine is seeking an optometrist to join the comprehensive eye care division. This individual will work independently to provide primary ocular evaluations for patients at Wilmer Eye Institute's outpatient clinic location in Lutherville-Timonium, MD. Comprehensive care providers perform vision and medical eye exams within the bounds of individual licensure and Maryland's legal scope of practice. Common encounters include diabetic eye examinations; evaluation of dry eye disease, cataracts, and glaucoma suspicion; Plaquenil screenings; and triage of urgent eye or vision concerns. On-site referral/consultation for patients requiring surgical or advanced subspecialist care in glaucoma, retina, cornea, neuro-ophthalmology, oculoplastics, strabismus, and low vision rehabilitation. Vision care services include prescription of glasses and soft contact lenses, with the opportunity to build a practice in specialty therapeutic contact lenses. - Minimum of one (1) year of experience and successful completion of accredited optometry residency program. Education
- Graduation from an accredited school of Optometry required.
- Completion of an accredited Optometry Residency required.
- License in good standing in State of Maryland required.
- National Provider Identification (NPI) required.

This may include documentation of having two (2) MMR vaccines; two (2) Varicella vaccines; or antibody status to these diseases from laboratory testing. Blood tests for immunities to these diseases are ordinarily included in the pre-employment physical exam except for those employees who provide results of blood tests or immunization documentation from their own health care providers. Any vaccinations required for these diseases will be given at no cost in our Occupational Health office.Salary Range:
Instructor $135,000- $155,000, Assistant Professor $145,000
