Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Optometrist to join our established private practice here in Northern Michigan. We are currently a one doctor practice operating on a 4-day workweek with weekends and Mondays off. Owner is available and committed to supporting a smooth transition to joining the practice. Duties Conduct thorough eye examinations using advanced diagnostic tools and techniques to assess visual acuity and ocular health. Diagnose and manage a variety of eye conditions, including refractive errors, glaucoma, cataracts, and other ophthalmologic issues. Prescribe corrective lenses such as glasses or contact lenses based on individual patient needs. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records in electronic medical record (EMR) systems while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient privacy. Educate patients on eye health, preventive care, and proper use of prescribed optical devices. Collaborate with optical staff to recommend appropriate eyewear solutions tailored to each patient's lifestyle and needs. Stay current with advancements in ophthalmology and medical coding practices to ensure high-quality care delivery. Requirements Valid licensure as an Optometrist in the state of Michigan with active certification to practice. Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and best practices for maintaining patient confidentiality. Ability to interpret medical records accurately and apply medical coding standards effectively. Excellent communication skills to explain complex diagnoses clearly to patients and team members. Please reach out for more details and information!
