- Document and maintain records pertaining to pients
- Examine, diagnose, and perform specific optometric trements for conditions of the vision system.
- Exercise independent professional judgment in diagnosing the full range of complex optometric conditions as well as planning and executing the necessary trement programs to meet complex and frequent changes in the trement objective.
- Utilize various examinion techniques of vision, eye and reled structures to determine the presence of vision anomalies, diseases, and/or other abnormalities; treing eye conditions by prescribing and adapting spectacle lenses, optical aids., etc.; referring pients to other health professionals for further diagnosis and trements.
- Provide emotional support and comfort to pients and their families during trement interventions.
- Manage pient workload within available staffing, which may include support of health technicians.
- Coordine care with VA's tertiary care facilities and VA sharing partners.
- Perform the usual administrive components of pient care management, such as: documention of progress notes and consultion findings in an electronic medical record, electronic entry, and signure of all orders for inpients and outpients, etc.
