No call, nights or weekends. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in comprehensive optometry with a commitment to improving visual health and enhancing patient experiences. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on patients' quality of life through expert eye care and exceptional service. Duties Perform thorough eye examinations utilizing advanced diagnostic tools to assess visual acuity, ocular health, and physiological function. Diagnose and manage common eye conditions such as glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration, and refractive errors. Manage post op surgical patients. Prescribe corrective lenses, contact lenses, or medical treatments tailored to individual patient needs. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) or Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Educate patients on eye health, preventive care, and treatment options while fostering a positive customer service experience. Collaborate with ophthalmologists and other healthcare professionals for complex cases requiring specialized intervention. Ensure adherence to aseptic techniques and safety protocols during examinations and procedures to maintain a sterile environment. Utilize medical terminology effectively when documenting diagnoses, treatment plans, and patient instructions. Stay current with advancements in ophthalmology, physiology knowledge, and optical technology to provide cutting-edge care. Contact lens fittings, manifest refractions and retinoscopy. Experience Doctor of Optometry degree required. Strong knowledge of anatomy related to the eye and physiology principles relevant to ocular health. Familiarity with EMR systems and EHR platforms for efficient documentation and record management. Demonstrated ability to deliver excellent patient care with strong customer service skills. Knowledge of medical coding related to optometry services for accurate billing practices. Understanding of HIPAA regulations ensuring confidentiality and security of patient information. Ability to communicate complex medical information clearly and compassionately to patients of all ages.
