Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Optometrist to join our dynamic eye care team. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive eye examinations, diagnose and treat visual and ocular health issues, and deliver exceptional patient care. Your expertise will help improve patients' quality of life through clear vision and healthy eyes. Duties Perform detailed eye examinations using advanced diagnostic equipment to assess visual acuity, ocular health, and overall eye function Diagnose and manage common eye conditions such as glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration, and refractive errors Prescribe corrective lenses, contact lenses, and medications as appropriate to meet patient needs Educate patients on eye health, proper contact lens care, and preventive measures to maintain optimal vision Maintain accurate medical records using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) or Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems in compliance with HIPAA regulations Collaborate with ophthalmologists and other healthcare professionals on complex cases involving ophthalmology or specialized treatments Ensure aseptic techniques during examinations and procedures to uphold patient safety standards Requirements Valid state licensure as an Optometrist with current certification to practice in the designated area Strong knowledge of ophthalmology principles, anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology related to eye health Experience with optical equipment, contact lens fitting, and pediatric patient care preferred Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for efficient documentation of patient interactions and medical records Excellent patient care skills with a focus on customer service and clear communication Understanding of medical coding related to optometry services for billing purposes Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and data security Join us in delivering top-tier eye care that transforms lives!
