In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive eye care services, including vision assessments, diagnoses, and treatment plans to enhance patients' ocular health and overall well-being. Your expertise will help improve quality of life for diverse patient populations through personalized eye care solutions. Responsibilities Conduct thorough eye examinations using advanced diagnostic tools and techniques to assess visual acuity, eye health, and overall ocular function. Diagnose and manage common eye conditions such as glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration, and refractive errors. Prescribe corrective lenses, contact lenses, or medications based on patient needs and clinical findings. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records utilizing Electronic Medical Record (EMR) or Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Educate patients on eye health, preventive care, and proper use of corrective devices to promote long-term ocular wellness. Collaborate with ophthalmologists, opticians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care. Stay current with advancements in ophthalmology, optics, and medical technology to continually enhance service quality. Requirements Valid licensure as an Optometrist with appropriate state licensing requirements fulfilled. Strong knowledge of ophthalmology principles, anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology related to eye health. Experience with optical equipment and understanding of optical prescriptions for vision correction. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for accurate documentation of patient visits and medical records. Excellent patient care skills combined with a friendly customer service approach to foster trust and satisfaction. Ability to perform vital signs assessment and apply aseptic techniques during examinations or procedures. Knowledge of medical coding practices relevant to optometry services for billing purposes.
