Optometrist Kavanagh & Marshall Optometrists East Syracuse, NY Job Details Part-time $90 an hour 4 days ago Qualifications Collaborate with healthcare professionals Teamwork Electronic health records (EHR) management Collaboration HIPAA Doctor of Optometry Optometry License Clinical documentation Healthcare diagnosis Medical terminology Full Job Description Position Summary The Doctor of Optometry will provide comprehensive, patient-centered eye care with an emphasis on medical optometry, advanced diagnostics, and specialty contact lens services. The role requires clinical proficiency in the diagnosis, management, and longitudinal care of ocular and vision-related conditions, utilizing contemporary diagnostic technologies and evidence-based treatment protocols. Core Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive eye examinations, including the diagnosis and management of a broad spectrum of vision-related and ocular conditions. Perform contact lens evaluations and fittings, including specialty lenses (e.g., scleral lenses, orthokeratology) and implement myopia management strategies. Interpret and generate detailed reports for advanced diagnostic testing, including visual fields, optical coherence tomography (OCT), OCT angiography (OCTA), electrodiagnostic testing, widefield imaging (e.g., Optomap), and neurolens assessments. Diagnose and manage glaucoma, including risk stratification, therapeutic intervention, and longitudinal monitoring. Evaluate and manage patients with diabetic retinopathy, including risk assessment, patient education, and coordination of care with other healthcare providers when indicated. Diagnose and treat dry eye disease using a structured, evidence-based approach. Provide pre-operative and post-operative care for cataract and refractive surgery (e.g., LASIK), including monitoring outcomes and managing complications. Qualifications and Requirements Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited institution. Active and unrestricted license to practice optometry in the State of New York. Strong clinical competency in medical optometry, including ocular disease management and advanced diagnostic interpretation. Experience or demonstrated interest in specialty contact lenses and myopia control is highly preferred. Proficiency in the use of modern diagnostic equipment and electronic health records (EHR) systems. Excellent clinical judgment, communication skills, and attention to detail. Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

$90.00 per hour
