Summary Corl Family Eyecare, a full service optometric practice, is dedicated to providing quality eye care for Central Pennsylvania. We take pride in the level of customer service and professionalism that has become our reputation. Corl Family Eyecare is looking hire an Optometrist to work at our Harrisburg location on North Front Street. We are looking for career driven Optometrists who want to provide personalized care to their patients with flexible, 8-5 Monday through Friday schedule.

Full-time Salary:
Starting O.D.s should expect approximately $135,000.00 / year but we are willing to negotiate based on schedule and experience.

Simple IRA with up to 3% match This vacancy will remain open until filled. Responsibilities The Optometrist functions as an integral part of the eye care team, examining the human eye and ascertaining defects of the human visual system under the supervision of an ophthalmologist and chief optometrist. The primary duties and responsibilities of the position may include, but are not limited to: Primary eye and vision care services, such as:
  • Prescribing glasses
  • Ordering diagnostic imaging and laboratory studies
  • Preparing referrals for diagnosis, treatment, and management of systemic and ocular conditions revealed through optometric examination Primary optometric eye and vision care, such as:
  • Emergency care (evaluating/managing/triaging emergent, non-surgical eye conditions)
  • Problem-oriented care (managing patients referred with complaints typical of routine disorders)
  • Preventive health services (performing mandated examinations such as diabetic retinopathy and glaucoma screenings). Clinical procedures, such as:
  • Medical and ocular history
  • Visual acuity measurement
  • Pupillary function testing
  • Color vision testing
  • Extra-ocular muscle function and binocularity testing
  • Refractive and accommodative testing
  • External examination of the eye and adnexal structures
