Your expertise will help improve vision health and enhance quality of life through precise assessments, personalized treatment plans, and exceptional patient care. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to utilize your skills in ophthalmology, medical records management, and patient interaction within a private practice. This is a part time flexible opportunity - looking to start in June of this year. Responsibilities Perform eye examinations, including refraction tests, visual acuity assessments, and ocular health evaluations. Evaluate OCT testing and visual fields. Diagnose and manage a wide range of eye conditions, such as glaucoma, cataracts, and refractive errors. Utilize paper charts/ EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems to document patient histories, examination findings, and treatment plans accurately. Conduct patient education sessions on eye health, contact lens fitting, and preventive care strategies. Collaborate with ophthalmologists and other healthcare professionals to coordinate complex cases requiring specialized intervention. Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and data security. Qualifications Valid state licensure or certification as an Optometrist with active practice privileges. Proven experience in ophthalmology or optometry practice settings with a focus on patient care. Strong knowledge of medical optometry and medical coding practices related to eye health services. Familiarity with paper charts, EMR/EHR systems for efficient documentation and record keeping. Excellent customer service skills
