Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled, Residency Trained Pediatric Optometrist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive pediatric eye care services, including vision examinations, diagnosis of eye diseases, and the management of patient care. The Optometrist will work closely with patients and parents to ensure their visual health and provide guidance on eyewear options and eye health maintenance. Adult patients will also be treated. Duties Conduct thorough eye examinations to assess visual acuity and diagnose ocular conditions. Prescribe corrective lenses and provide recommendations for eyewear. Educate patients on proper eye care practices and the importance of regular eye exams. Maintain accurate medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Collaborate with ophthalmologists for referrals when necessary. Stay updated on advancements in optometry, including new technologies and treatments. Assist in the training of support staff regarding patient care protocols and medical terminology. Engage in sales activities related to eyewear products while ensuring patient satisfaction. Qualifications Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited institution. Residency training in pediatric optometry Valid state license to practice optometry (or we will help you obtain this) Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, and aseptic techniques. Experience in pediatrics Familiarity with medical coding practices is advantageous. Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient care and education. Ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team environment. Previous experience in ophthalmology or related fields is preferred.
