Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Certified Diabetic Shoe Fitter to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide expert fitting and education on specialized footwear designed for individuals with diabetes, helping to prevent foot complications and improve patient comfort. Your expertise will ensure patients receive personalized care through precise measurements, fitting procedures, and ongoing support. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in patients' lives by promoting foot health and mobility. Duties Conduct comprehensive intake assessments to understand each patient's unique needs and medical history related to diabetic foot care Measure, fit, and recommend appropriate diabetic footwear and orthotic devices with precision and care Educate patients on proper footwear usage, foot hygiene, and injury prevention strategies tailored to their condition Collaborate with healthcare providers to interpret ICD (International Classification of Diseases) coding for accurate documentation and billing purposes Apply aseptic techniques during fittings to maintain a sterile environment and prevent infections Demonstrate thorough knowledge of foot physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology to effectively communicate with patients and team members Assist in maintaining detailed records of patient interactions, fittings, and follow-up care Qualifications Certification as a Diabetic Shoe Fitter from an accredited program or organization is required Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology related to diabetic foot health Experience with intake procedures, patient service, and providing compassionate patient care Knowledge of ICD coding standards for accurate documentation of diagnoses and treatments Familiarity with aseptic techniques to ensure safe fitting practices Excellent communication skills to educate patients effectively about footwear options and foot health management Ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team while maintaining attention to detail in all tasks Join us in delivering exceptional diabetic foot care by combining your technical expertise with compassionate patient service. Pay:
$10.00 - $15.00 per hour
