In this vital role, you will provide specialized assessment and treatment of eye movement disorders, binocular vision issues, and visual development concerns. Your expertise will help improve patients' visual function and quality of life through precise diagnostics, tailored therapy plans, and collaborative care. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced clinical environment where your skills directly impact patient outcomes and overall eye health. This position will be based out of our Ogden and Bountiful locations. Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive orthoptic evaluations to assess eye alignment, movement, and binocular function using advanced diagnostic tools. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including vision therapy exercises and corrective strategies. Collaborate closely with ophthalmologists, optometrists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records within electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or similar platforms, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Educate patients and their families on eye conditions, treatment procedures, and home exercises to promote optimal visual development. Utilize medical terminology effectively when documenting assessments, diagnoses, and treatment progress. Stay current with advancements in ophthalmology, physiology knowledge, and clinic protocols to deliver evidence-based care. Qualifications Valid certification as a Certified Orthoptist from an accredited program. Proven experience working in a clinical setting specializing in ophthalmology or optometry. Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and medical coding related to eye health. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Epic or other electronic medical records platforms. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and data security. Experience with optical equipment and clinic procedures related to eye assessments. Excellent communication skills for patient education and interdisciplinary collaboration. Prior medical office experience demonstrating proficiency in managing medical records and documentation standards.
