We partner closely with physicians, therapists, and interdisciplinary care teams to deliver high-quality, clinically appropriate solutions that improve mobility, comfort, and quality of life. We are seeking a Certified Pedorthist / Certified Fitter who is clinically strong, relationship-oriented, and motivated to grow within a collaborative healthcare environment. This role is ideal for a practitioner who values patient care excellence, professional autonomy, and long-term career development. Position Summary The Certified Pedorthist / Certified Fitter plays a key role in supporting the pedorthic program at Comprehensive Prosthetics & Orthotics by evaluating patient needs, collaborating with prescribing providers, and delivering high-quality pedorthic solutions. This position blends clinical expertise, patient education, documentation, and referral relationship management to ensure positive patient outcomes and long-term program growth. Essential Functions & Responsibilities Collaborate with physicians and care teams to evaluate patient needs and determine appropriate pedorthic solutions. Support proper patient management in alignment with established standards of care and professional best practices. Recommend pedorthic treatment options and device solutions in coordination with prescribing providers. Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve patient concerns to ensure satisfaction with devices provided. Deliver a high standard of patient care, including appropriate follow-up with patients and referral sources. Stay current on emerging techniques, materials, and componentry to expand service offerings and clinical flexibility. Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation outlining patient goals, issues, solutions, and outcomes in accordance with the Patient Bill of Rights. Provide necessary clinical information to administrative staff to support reimbursement and billing processes. Partner with branch leadership to support inventory management, materials tracking, and operational efficiency. Build and maintain professional relationships with physicians, case managers, and referral sources; participate in outreach and education related to pedorthic services and capabilities. Ensure compliance with all applicable safety standards and regulations, including Medicare, governmental requirements, OSHA, and bloodborne pathogen protocols. Behavioral Competencies Demonstrates sound clinical judgment, professional accountability, and adherence to established standards of care within scope of practice. Delivers patient-centered care through clear communication, empathy, and respectful interactions with patients, caregivers, and referral partners. Maintains strict compliance with HIPAA, documentation standards, safety protocols, and all applicable regulatory requirements. Collaborates effectively within an interdisciplinary healthcare team and adapts to changing clinical and operational needs. Applies critical thinking and problem-solving skills to address patient concerns, device issues, and opportunities for continuous improvement. Required Qualifications Current American Board for Certification (ABC) certification in Pedorthics (CPed) . Licensed or eligible for licensure in the State of Illinois. Demonstrated clinical competence in pedorthic evaluation, fitting, modification, and follow-up care. Working knowledge of anatomy, medical terminology, and pedorthic componentry and materials. Ability to collaborate with physicians and care teams to recommend appropriate pedorthic solutions within scope of practice. Strong clinical documentation skills with the ability to clearly and accurately record patient assessments, goals, and outcomes. Preferred Qualifications Two (2) to five (5) years of pedorthic experience; equivalent clinical training or supervised practice may be considered. Experience working in a multidisciplinary healthcare or rehabilitation setting. Experience supporting reimbursement processes through accurate clinical documentation. Comfort engaging with referral sources and educating patients, caregivers, or providers on pedorthic services and device use.
Compensation & Benefits Base Salary Range:
