Paramedic-Full Time We are hiring for our
FALL 2026
Academy! Servicing the Thompson Valley Health Services District in Northern Colorado (encompassing Loveland, Berthoud, and surrounding areas), Thompson Valley Paramedics operate out of dedicated EMS stations, and function as top-tier clinicians, patient advocates, problem solvers, team leaders, educators, and mentors.
Experience / Education
/ Certifications Current Colorado Paramedic Certification Current, valid, and unrestricted Driver's License American Heart Association (AHA) ACLS and AHA BLS certifications Completion of
ICS 100, ICS

NIMS 700
Knowledge of advanced life support protocols, patient assessment, pharmacology, and ambulance operations. Ability to communicate effectively with patients, partners, healthcare professionals, and dispatch. Physical Requirements The following requirements describe the essential job functions of this position: Ability to safely lift, carry, and move patients and equipment, including assisting with patients weighing up to approximately 150 pounds, using partner assistance and/or mechanical devices as appropriate. Ability to stand, walk, kneel, bend, crouch, climb, reach, and balance while performing emergency medical duties in varied environments. Ability to maintain strength, mobility, and endurance sufficient to perform essential job tasks during extended or physically demanding shifts. Ability to see, hear, and communicate effectively to assess patients, operate medical equipment, administer medications, and interact with patients, coworkers, and dispatch. Ability to perform duties in uncontrolled, stressful, or potentially hazardous environments, including exposure to weather extremes. Safely operate emergency vehicles in various weather and terrain conditions. Pre-Employment Testing and Screening Final candidates will be required to successfully complete post-offer, pre-employment testing and screening in accordance with applicable federal and state law.

Job-related physical ability testing is designed to evaluate the ability to perform essential job functions. Post-offer medical examination, conducted in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and required of all candidates entering this job classification. Drug and alcohol screening. Background investigation, including criminal history and motor vehicle record review. All testing and screening requirements are job-related, consistent with business necessity, and applied uniformly to candidates for this position. Compensation This is an hourly, non-exempt position in accordance with the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). The annualized pay range for this role is $71,901 - $101,181 based on full-time employment. The starting hourly rate will be determined based on experience, education, certifications, and qualifications. Overtime is paid in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
Schedule options may include:
24-hour shifts on a modified Kelly schedule with a nine-day rotation, or Alternating 12-hour shifts (3/4, 4/3), depending on operational needs; Periodic paid on-call assignments at $5/hour, with a requirement to respond within one (1) hour when called. 05/24/26 Thompson Valley EMS is a 3rd service EMS agency operated by an Independent Health Services District. We are the only Prehospital ALS Providers within our district and maintain a positive and collaborative relationship with partnering BLS Fire-Response and Law Enforcement agencies. Our standards of care are patient focused and guided by ethics, compassion, and evidence-based guidelines. Protocols are developed for and by TVEMS employees to remain relevant and progressive.
